Claudia is a Consultant Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon at Barts Health Trust, the largest Trust within the UK, split across 5 sites (Barts Hospital, The Royal London Hospital, Mile End Hospital, Newham University Hospital and Whipps Cross Hospital) and linked to Barts Medical School, Queen Mary University and UCL partners. She is clinical lead for Paediatric Orthopaedics and lead for the Neuromuscular Service. Claudia graduated (MD) from Medical University in Austria in 2000. Being head hunted, she started specialist training in Austria in the same year. As part of her training she spent 3 years in London and returned after completing her orthopaedic training in Austria to work in the UK as a consultant. She is clinical and educational supervisor for orthopaedic specialist trainees and Interviewer for Barts medical school. She is faculty on national and international courses and invited speaker at international meetings. She is involved with clinical research and PI and CI for international multicenter studies and reviewer for orthopaedic journals. She is a founding member of ICODE, an international consensus committee aiming to regulate, certify and deliver training for baby hip US screening and is actively involved in charity work in Afrika, treating children with orthopaedic deformities.
