Bettina Resl joined Sanofi Austria as Head of Public Affairs and Patient Advocacy in May 2017. Resl has fifteen years of professional experience in public and political institutions and joined Thierry Politikberatung in 2011 as a partner. From 2014, the 39-year-old was active for the American pharmaceutical company AbbVie in the area of Government Affairs and Market Access. From 2008 to 2011, she was responsible for telemedicine/eHealth and an extensive Universitarial construction program as an advisor for higher education policy in the cabinet of the former Minister of Science Johannes Hahn and Beatrix Karl. a.o. She was Inter Alia responsible for the LKH 2020 Graz. Previously, she was advisor to the minister in the Federal Ministry of Health and Women under Maria Rauch-Kallat (2005 to 2007) with, inter alia, the work of women’s health during the EU Council Presidency in 2006 and a parliamentary assistant of Rauch-Kallat when she joined the parliament (2007) with a Focus on the Health and Equality Committees. She also headed the office of the United Nations Association of Austria (now the Austrian Association for Foreign Affairs and the United Nations), working closely with UN Women (2002-2005).
The mother of three children studied Political Science and Russian Language at the Universities of Innsbruck and Vienna and attended the Master’s Program in Public Health at the Medical University of Vienna and Political Management in Berlin. She is also a graduate of the 6. Strategic Leadership Course of the Austrian Federal Government. Since 2011 she has also been a jury member of the Gabriele Possanner Federal Prize for Gender Studies.
